Jenny Melia

Jennifer serves as a Contributor at Babel Institute, where she mentors Fellows in the Babel Scholars Program and high school students in the Emerging Leaders Program. She also helps lead panels, roundtables, and other Babel Institute programming.

Jennifer is currently a nonpartisan committee page for the Minnesota House of Representatives, gaining direct insight into the legislative process, with a focus on public safety and judicial law. In 2025, Jennifer amplified her dedication to civil discourse in Washington, D.C. as a political studies fellow for the Hertog Foundation, hearing from leading policy-makers and think tank experts. 

Originally from the United Kingdom, Jennifer holds a BSc with High Distinction from the University of Minnesota in the Sociology of Law, Crime, and Justice. During her time as a student, Jennifer served as a teaching assistant and research assistant. She was also heavily involved in leadership development, where she helped create and execute a leadership program for emerging young leaders that has continued to expand since her graduation.
