Programs
Babel Institute provides resources that support young people who are often excluded from higher education and policy debates.
The Emerging Leaders Program connects high school juniors and seniors in the United States from low-income communities with mentors who guide them throughout the school year. Students take part in monthly workshops on college admissions, scholarships, career planning, and leadership skills. As part of the program, each student completes a capstone project in which they select one social or economic issue in their community, investigate its underlying cause(s), and draft a policy proposal offering a solution to the problem.
The Babel Scholars Program provides up to 100% tuition assistance for low-income college students in Africa. Scholars are placed in the Africa Studies program, where they conduct research, publish original work, and participate in policy debates.
Support our growth
Donations cover the cost of pairing high school students with mentors, running workshops that prepare them for college and careers, and supporting their capstone projects on community policy issues. They also fund tuition for college students in Africa and embed those scholars in our Africa Studies program, where they publish research and join policy debates. Every dollar goes directly to making these opportunities possible.
