Melodie is a student at Université Internationale Claire Fontaine in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, pursuing a Bachelor of Business and Economics.
She is currently conducting an independent research project examining the Pecking Order Theory among companies traded on the Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM). Her research analyzes 20 years of financial data from 31 companies to examine capital structure, leverage, profitability, liquidity, financing gaps, and corporate financing behavior. She has also built and cleaned a large financial dataset in Excel using information collected from company annual reports and financial statements.
Melodie’s interests include corporate finance, financial markets, capital structure, and financial data analysis, with a particular interest in the behavior of firms in West African markets.
